Wallace State Community College will be highlighted in an episode of Amazon Prime’s “The College Tour.” This episode will present the college’s lively campus environment, academic strengths, and varied programs that contribute to its ranking among the top community colleges in the U.S.
Upcoming Film Crew Visit
A film crew will be on campus from October 7 to 9, interviewing students across various programs such as academic transfer, applied technology, health sciences, athletics, and performing arts. Featured students include Dianna Boatright, Jackson “Tiger” Flanigan, Johnathan Gray, ReAnna Rusk, and Anna Wynn.
In addition, Wallace State President Dr. Vicki Karolewics will be featured in a segment called “Coffee with the President,” which aims to provide insights into the college’s mission and vision.
Purpose and Concept of the Show
“The College Tour,” created by Alex Boylan, Lisa Hennessy, and Burton Roberts, offers an authentic perspective on college life. Each episode highlights real experiences from students, faculty, and alumni, discussing topics like academics, housing, and campus culture.
Boylan explained that the show’s concept arose when his niece couldn’t visit colleges during the pandemic, inspiring him to develop a virtual way for students to explore campuses.
Special Event with the Producer
On October 9, Boylan will host a special Lunch and Learn session at the Gudger Student Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., where he will share insights from his experiences in television production and as a contestant on “The Amazing Race.”
This is a unique chance for attendees to learn about the television industry while celebrating the college’s achievements.
