Riot Games has introduced Veto as Valorant’s new Agent 29, highlighting the character’s abilities. Veto is described as a Senegalese Sentinel, designed to disrupt opponents while providing defensive support.
Veto’s Official Release
Valorant’s 29th agent, Veto, was officially released on October 7, 2025, alongside patch 11.07. Riot Games announced Veto during the Valorant Champions 2025 Grand Finals in Paris and released his character trailer on October 5, 2025. Veto is a Senegalese Sentinel, designed to disrupt enemy utility and provide defensive support in matches.[1][2][4]
Veto’s Abilities
Chokehold: Veto throws a viscous fragment on the ground that deploys into a trap. Enemies caught in it are immobilized, deafened, and take decay damage. The trap can be destroyed before activation.[4][1]
Crosscut: Veto deploys a vortex on the ground. He (and allies) can teleport instantly to this location while within range and looking at the vortex. During the buy phase, the vortex can be reclaimed and redeployed.[2][4]
Interceptor: Veto places an active device that destroys incoming enemy utility, such as grenades or deployables that bounce or can be destroyed by gunfire. The device itself can be destroyed by enemies.[1][4]
Evolution (Ultimate): Veto fully mutates, gaining increased combat fire rate (combat stim), health regeneration, and becomes immune to all debuffs for the entire round.[2][4][1]
Role and Impact
Veto is designed as a utility suppressor, countering the prevalent utility-heavy meta by neutralizing enemy gadgets and ultimates. His kit makes him a formidable Sentinel focused on area control and defensive disruption. Early analysis suggests he will heavily influence competitive play and team strategies in Valorant’s upcoming seasons.[3][2]
Valorant Patch 11.07 Updates
Veto was introduced in patch 11.07.
Skirmish game mode launched simultaneously.
Gameplay fixes addressed agents like Waylay and Cypher for improved balance and stability.[4]
