Yacht Club Games has announced that its upcoming game, a spiritual successor to Link’s Awakening, has been postponed indefinitely. The team cited the need for more time to finalize development.
Details on the Game and Delay
The new game, which is a top-down action title, was set to launch on October 31st. Yacht Club explained they need additional time for polish and balancing to ensure quality. The game features a focus on puzzles and combat, with an interconnected map design.
Yacht Club stated, “This isn’t a major delay… just a stretch of time.” They emphasized that the game is nearly finished, as developers are currently playing it daily to refine the experience.
Other October Game Delays
This announcement follows delays for other games scheduled for October. A roguelike dungeon game has shifted to November, and Kingmakers missed its Early Access date without a new timeline.
Fans were particularly looking forward to Yacht Club’s new title, hoping it would arrive in time for the holiday season, reminiscent of the Game Boy Color era.
Future Updates and Developer Plans
Yacht Club indicated they won’t disclose a new release date until the game is officially submitted to platforms. They are currently working on design, art, sound, game balance, localization, and quality assurance.
With the game close to completion, many enthusiasts remain hopeful for news ahead of the year-end holidays.
