Nintendo has released backward compatibility fixes for select Switch 1 games on Switch 2. A complete list is provided.

  • New compatibility fixes released
  • Only five games included
  • Warframe among significant titles
  • More updates expected soon
  • Additional titles reported issues
  • Full status list provided

Nintendo released System Update 20.5.0 for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on September 29, 2025, delivering general stability improvements and restoring compatibility for several legacy titles.[1][2][3]

New Compatibility Fixes

After installing version 20.5.0 and updating each game, the following Switch 1 titles now run correctly on Switch 2:

  • Deemo Reborn[4][5]
  • Library of Ruina[5][4]
  • Powerful Pro Baseball 2024–2025[4][5]
  • Ultra Age[5][4]
  • Warframe[6][4]

This represents the smallest batch of backward compatibility patches to date, though further fixes are expected in future updates.

Remaining Issues

Nintendo has flagged five more games that still exhibit problems on Switch 2:[7][4]

  • Jelly Troops – Unsupported; game progression may fail[8][9]
  • Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning – Occasional graphics glitches in some areas (prior update fixed progression)[7]
  • Mugen Souls – Collected items sometimes do not display correctly[7]
  • Subway Simulator 2025: City Train – Animations may stutter or freeze[4]
  • Transistor – Crashes if docking or undocking during play[4][7]

Users should consult Nintendo’s official compatibility page before purchasing these titles on Switch 2.[10]

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Bug

Nintendo has acknowledged a voice synchronization issue in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition on Switch 2, where audio may fall out of sync during longer cutscenes. A patch is planned for an upcoming update.[11][12]
