Errata to existing cards
This update covers new rules for Magic: The Gathering with the forthcoming Lorwyn Eclipsed release. Official rules are available on the rules page, and discrepancies will be resolved in favor of the official rules.
New Mechanics and Updates
The release will introduce several new mechanics, including the function of Zinnia, Valley’s Voice, and Ashling, the Limitless. Detailed descriptions of these mechanics can be found in Matt Tabak’s mechanics article.
Key rules include the definition of blight, which allows players to put -1/-1 counters on their creatures. The Sorcerer subtype will also be added, affecting multiple creatures from Lorwyn Eclipsed and existing cards.
Changes to Existing Rules
Several existing rules have been updated, including the addition of the vivid ability word. Additional language has been added to clarify one-shot effects that grant abilities to spells when cast.
Cards with the friends forever ability have been updated to align with new partner mechanics, resulting in changes to card templates and glossary entries.
Additional Adjustments and Oracle Changes
Minor updates have been made to reminder text and templating for better clarity. The Sorcerer creature type has been added to many previous card entries.
Errata has been issued to legendary creature cards from a recent Secret Lair drop, changing their friends forever ability to partner—Friends forever for consistency.
