Apple TV is expanding Legendary’s “Monsterverse” with a new prequel series about Colonel Lee Shaw, portrayed by Wyatt Russell. The series will dive into Shaw’s early years and feature missions against Soviet threats.
Details of the New Series
The untitled prequel follows Colonel Lee Shaw, an American operative who undertakes a secret mission in 1984. His objective is to stop the Soviets from deploying a destructive Titan amid the Cold War tensions.
Joby Harold will run the series through his Safehouse Pictures banner. He is also in charge of overseeing the entire “Monsterverse” franchise for Apple TV, which includes both new and existing Titans.
Production Team and Background
The series is co-executive produced by Harold and Tory Tunnell, along with several others, including Wyatt Russell and Chris Black. Toho Co., Ltd., which owns the Godzilla character, is also involved as an executive producer.
Harold’s previous work includes writing and producing a series that gained five Emmy nominations and set streaming records. His background includes influential titles like the “John Wick” franchise.
