1. Introduction

Faharas.net is a volunteer-driven, independent editorial project that combines technology and human verification to publish clear, accurate, and verifiable news summaries.

We welcome new contributors, editors, translators, and fact-checkers who share our mission of transparency and evidence-based reporting.

Joining Faharas means joining a global network committed to truth, clarity, and accountability — not clicks or corporate influence.

2. Who Can Join

Faharas accepts applications from individuals who:

  • Have strong writing, editing, or research skills.
  • Demonstrate ethical judgment and respect for factual accuracy.
  • Are fluent in at least one of our publishing languages (Arabic or English).
  • Can work independently and follow editorial standards.
  • Are at least 18 years old and capable of verifying their identity for contributor transparency.

No journalism degree is required — we value accuracy, clarity, and curiosity above all.

All participants are trained in Faharas editorial methods and verification workflow before publication.

3. Roles Available

We welcome applications for several volunteer roles:

a) News Contributor

Summarize verified news from trusted sources in clear, human-written language. Each summary must cite and link to the original source.

b) Fact-Checker

Review news items for accuracy, evidence, and source reliability. Apply Faharas’s six-step verification and classification standards.

c) Editor

Oversee contributors’ work for clarity, neutrality, and editorial consistency. Ensure factual statements meet Faharas’s standards before publication.

d) Translator

Translate verified articles between Arabic and English (and soon French, Spanish, German, and Hindi). Maintain context accuracy and source consistency.

e) Reviewer / Mentor

Experienced contributors may guide new volunteers and assist in internal verification.

4. How It Works

  1. Apply via the Contributor Application Form.
  2. Attend onboarding to learn our editorial workflow and publishing tools.
  3. Submit your first article or translation for editorial review.
  4. Get verified as a contributor once your work meets publication standards.

Active contributors may later join specialized teams such as FactCheck, Editorial, or Regional Language Units.

5. Contributor Independence

Faharas is non-profit and transparent. There are no central ads, paywalls, or sponsored content.

Contributors may choose to monetize their own verified pages through personal ad accounts (e.g., Google AdSense) under the Contributor Monetization Program.

This model allows contributors to earn directly from third-party providers — Faharas does not handle payments, ads, or commissions.

6. Training and Support

Every new contributor receives access to:

  • The Faharas Editorial Handbook (standards, sources, verification steps).
  • The FactCheck Guidelines for classification and workflow.
  • Access to mentors and review editors.
  • Technical guidance on SEO, formatting, and compliance.

Training is provided free of charge and is available in English and Arabic.

7. Standards and Ethics

All team members must follow:

Faharas prohibits plagiarism, undisclosed sponsorship, or misuse of AI tools. All content must be human-written and verifiable.

8. Recognition

Contributors receive:

  • A public author profile with byline, photo (optional), and published work.
  • Eligibility for annual recognition features on faharas.net/recognition.
  • Access to the Faharas Academy (Faharas.org) for ongoing skill development.

Outstanding contributors may be invited to lead regional or language teams.

Editorial roles are assigned purely based on merit, accuracy, and performance.
