The iPhone 17 Pro Max has been released as part of Apple’s 2025 lineup. While it retains some design elements, it introduces a new cooling system and notable camera upgrades.
New Design and Pricing
The iPhone 17 Pro Max features a sleek aluminum unibody design and employs a built-in vapor chamber for better cooling. It measures 0.3 inches thick, 6.43 inches tall, and 3.07 inches wide, weighing 8.2 ounces. Starting at $1199 for 256GB, the model reviewed includes 1TB for $1599, with a 2TB option priced at $1999.
Available colors include Deep Blue, Cosmic Orange, and Silver. The new camera shelf design minimizes wobbling when placed flat, an improvement welcomed by users.
Performance and Display
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is equipped with the A19 Pro chip, offering enhanced performance compared to its predecessor. It scores 3540 in single-core tests and 9339 in multi-core, marking a significant performance boost.
Its display measures 2868 x 1320 resolution, providing excellent brightness and color. The OLED screen can reach up to 3,000 nits, making it very effective for gaming and video playback.
Camera and Software Enhancements
All three camera lenses now feature 48MP, including the upgraded telephoto lens. The selfie camera also improved to 18MP, with software enhancements like Center Stage for video calls.
iOS 26 introduces various AI features and a new visual design called “Liquid Glass.” However, this design may evoke mixed reactions from users, lacking a customization option.
