The Google Home team is addressing user questions after launching the Gemini for Home program. This early access is distinct from the ongoing Public Preview, which focuses on broader features for the Google Home app.
Details about Early Access Program
Early access allows users to be among the first to try new features and provide feedback. Users must sign up for early access and will be notified when the features are available for their homes, though it won’t be immediate.
Currently, most users cannot find the “Early Access” option in their profiles. It will initially be available in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland, before expanding to Japan, Switzerland, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Norway, Sweden, and Mexico next week.
Voice Assistant Rollout and Compatibility
Early access for the Gemini for Home voice assistant will start for Google Home Premium subscribers in the US on October 28. Google plans to expand this to more countries in early 2026.
Initially, access will be available to select existing users in the US with compatible speakers and displays, slowly rolling out to all users in participating markets by early 2026.
Camera and Subscription Information
The Gemini for Home will support all generations of Nest cameras and doorbells from 2015 onwards, along with the new Walmart onn camera and doorbell. Users with older Nest cameras must move to the Google Home app and sign up for early access.
Users with a Google AI Pro subscription along with Google Home Premium must activate their benefits. For ADT customers with Nest Aware, existing features will remain available, and they should contact ADT customer service for more details.
