What Is Open Moshpit
Open Moshpit is a standalone multiplayer playlist in the beta. It uses the same maps and modes as the standard Moshpit but pairs players with less emphasis on performance metrics.[1]
Maps and Modes
Both Moshpit and Open Moshpit include:
Maps

The Forge
Team Deathmatch
Domination
Hardpoint
Kill Confirmed

Matchmaking Changes
Since 2007’s Modern Warfare, Call of Duty has tightened skill-based matchmaking to group players by performance. Over time, this reduced casual variability and spontaneity for high-skill players. Open Moshpit aims to balance fairness with unpredictability by drastically lowering skill weighting during matchmaking.[1]
Release Date
Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will release on November 14, 2025, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.[2]
