Boosts holiday spirit for drivers
Amazon has reintroduced a feature allowing customers to tip delivery drivers without spending any money themselves.
Easy Tipping Through Amazon App
After receiving a package, some customers will receive a prompt in the Amazon app asking if they want to tip the driver. If they agree, Amazon will add a $5 tip to the driver’s bonus pay, at no cost to the customer.
Customers can also find this option by searching “Tip My Driver” on Amazon. For added convenience, users can say, “Alexa, tip my driver” for automatic tipping after their last delivery.
Unlimited Bonuses and Specific Drivers
Amazon drivers can receive bonuses from multiple customers, meaning there’s no cap on how much they can earn in a day. If 20 customers tip, a driver could earn $100 in one delivery schedule. However, Amazon has set a total cap of $2 million for all tips combined.
This tipping feature is only available for drivers using Amazon’s blue delivery vans and for flex couriers who use their own vehicles.
Enhancing the Holiday Season for Drivers
This new feature aims to enhance the holiday season for drivers who are working hard to ensure timely deliveries of Christmas gifts.
The simple command to Alexa allows customers to positively impact their delivery experience, supporting drivers during a busy time.
